My Sewing/Art 'n Craft/Dollhouse Room ~ Little Butterfly Chandelier #1 - Vintage Brass to White!

yayayayayaayyayay! eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! so excited!....got it spray painted white with Vaspar Outdoor Color - from Lowe's  .....looks so pretty & fresh!......(painted my Lil' Flower Cart white too, but proper post on that later, along with more of my Pink Zinnias & other fleurs i grow from seeds every year, lol) .. now i'm playing around with ideas for my Lil Butterfly Chandelier........gonna hang it over the valance on this Hook from Walmart's Gardening Center, was black, but now it's white too! ..yippeee, lol...
......so far hung the Pastel colored iridescent stained-glass Butterflies on it, and discovered those pretty Aqua colored glass beaded chains with the Crystal Hearts on the ends sitting on my sewing machine that i'd TOTALLY forgot i owned....lolol.......sparkly really adds to the prettiness! so it needs some more obviously and i only have one Pink Puff, LOL.....but, it's coming along....now that i have it up, i can FINALLY take down the previous owner's non-working mini-blinds and address that window!.....this house is taking me forever to move into!! lol........opps, back to the chandelier ;0.....it's rather adorable so far,  not as french glamorous as i'd hoped, but i think it's really cute and indicative of my basic inner child soul who adores Pink Cupcakes and Adorable Bubblegum things in life....can't wait to figure it all out....LOVE LOVE LOVE the WHITE.......it's the perfect whimsy touch for my creative space!!

one of my Pink Zinnias.....i grow flowers from seeds every year, and some of them actually bloom, lol ... ~ susie <3

My Sewing/Art 'n Craft/Dollhouse Room ~ Chandelier color decision

Ok, I've FINALLY made a decision about the little chandelier I found at a second-hand shop last year.   I'm going to paint it white, and hang these pastel colored butterfly stain-glass ornaments on it, and hang it in the middle of the double window with the pink striped valance that it's now haphazardly dangling over, lol.......one day i'm going to learn how to actually blog and figure out this stupid font, till then, my apologies, lolol.... ;)

That's right, a true hook's about to happen! ...I couldn't decide all this time if i wanted clear crystals, pink crystals, or what.......and once i FINALLY decided on these pastel butterflies, i then couldn't make up my mind if painting the chandelier white or pink would play them up best.....so after looking at them for a while on this ''egg tree'', which is white, i'm pretty sure white will coordinate with this arched shelf in this corner, and show up the butterflies best........being that this chandelier will be glowing from the light of the window, i will figure out later if i want to rewire it, till then, i snipped off the old wires from the '50's......lol........so, my now brass second-hand find is about to get hung and painted!! yay me....lolol.....I hope i love it when it's done and hope ever more i will post some pix of the finished project.......till then, here is the corner of my sewing/art/craft/dollhouse room i'm working on this week.....this room's taking forever, but i'm making some progress little by little on where to put all my dang creative supplies......lawd knows they seem to multiply overnight, i have absolutely NO IDEA who owns all this junk....lol........~susie <3

My New Faux Mantle/Fireplace ~ Nativity

Who doesn't adore salvaged vintage mantles from homes of bygone eras?  Being that we are mantle-less, and certainly not in a wonderful victorian or chateau of my dreams, , I've been trying to figure out a free wall in this house on which to place a faux mantle of some sort.   Dami called me one day from Lowes during the holidays,  and he had found this 4ft white shelf, complete with cute curvy brackets for $17!  So, this was one of my Christmas presents this year and we placed it on my only free wall over the tv.   Teamed along with my $10 Nativity Set he got me last year from Anna's Linen's,  some little gold filagree looking faux pine cones to frame out the edges and the shabby wreath I made last year, I am quite happy with our new little Faux Mantle area....

The funny thing is, that not only do I now have a true place to showcase my nativity set, but it really does cozy up the entire room.  Our att uverse cable has the best holiday fun channel during the season, and it's pretty hilarious how it really did feel like a fireplace when that channel was on! lol.......talk about flipping a switch!! lolol....best part is that we're not that in to chopping wood in 30degree weather, corn husk collecting, smokin' up the place, or heating up the house just in one room, lolol...... and no chimney sweeping to be hired ;0

I love how you can see the mantle area reflected in the dressing table mirror when you're sitting on the couch watching tv.......another one of those "surprise decorating bonus i had not planned"....i love when that happens! lol.....

sparkly!......i leave our christmas decor up through january....and spend the month taking down more and more of the "tacky red stockings and santa clausy'' stuff till we end up with just our white lights and snowflakes for a few weeks....being that we live where it snows, it's pretty decor in teh wintertime....and usually it will snow by now, but we only had 1" so far, and it did not stick......(ya, santa's not tacky till january, lololol...life is so relative)
