So, i can throw this all up in about 2 seconds, lol.....this is pretty much how we started a couple of years ago when we first moved in..........but now we have a christmas village, so who knows how that's supposed to fit in too! .........i figured it out last year, but it was kind of thrown together as well.....i'll show that in the next post, of what i did with it....up close it was adorable, the different elements were really cute, but like most decor, when you back up and see the room in its entirety, it can just be too much of a jumble on your eyes.......so, these photos are not my ''done photos'', just ones from previous years and the elements i am going to be working with, to YET AGAIN, try to make it all less cluttered, more cohesive, and i am finding myself, here again, first of December, without as many ''projects'' done this year to get the dining/kitchen area more organized, much less, figured out what to do with the new christmas village ......:).....love you too......all my fellow beautiful women who somehow manage to make a home at christmas full of cheer and love <3
that red runner was my great-grandmother's, she bought it in the 1920's at a church bazaar when she first got married, and she used it every christmas with her children..... my mother and grandmother remember her using it every year........ it has hand embroidered trees in white thread, with multi-colored sequins, it's quite sparkly in person, fading, but almost 100 yrs old now! still sparkles a bit, and i guess i'll take a prettier close up in a future post.....
my great-grandmother gave it to me when i was 16,
i cherish it so much.....
well, the table LOOKED clean before he surprised me with the village from Lowe's on Christmas Eve, lol.......i've always wanted one........now we have like 5 buildings and a santa train from Lowe's!
this is what we started with, cute buildings and a Santa train, yippeeeeeeeee............. and dami left it up to me to figure out....
I was cleaning up the stray green wire from putting up the tree, and found myself twisting it up to put in the box, and hello? it was a cute little wreath! ......so i threw this vintage bow and some hearts on it and hung it on my kitchen door................god forbid i take 3 mother-may-i-gigantic steps to put something away without crafting it into more decor.........lololololololl.......there seems to be a pattern around here..............who did all this dang clutter!!............clutter fairies and dust bunnies seem to meet up at night and make it all........................<3
ok, now i have my red farm table there..........so this is not the same....i do love how those candy colored lights look reflecting off the wood paneling.....it gives it that cute gingerbread house/santa's workshop look.....
those gigantic candy canes are SUPPOSED to go in one's yard....this is funny, one time we lived next door to my sister's grandbabies, and my niece had the same ones, and i came outside one morning and her 3 yr old was taking MY candy canes and told me ''your have 5, and we only have 3, we need more'' BUT, kept taking them alllllllllllllllllllllllllll...............and i said ''WHOEVER TAUGHT YOU HOW TO COUNT will get coal in their stocking!! dang that sesamee street!!''......that was so funny......2ft candy cane swiping calista lee ....munchin brats!! loloooo.........<3
cute vintage bears below too....i do have some cute figuring that i love around the house, in all rooms....everywhere you look......ok, not really, but i wish i did...........i love all the old charming vintage decor..........i was thinking i'd have the inside this cabinet painted white by now, so they'd look more ''icy north pole'' but i guess not.........LOLOLOLOOLOL......
santa said i get 4,000 cookies for making all these jokes and making his belly shake like jelly!! lolool...............i filled up that basket with pine cones so far......ONE THING i have gotten done...........BUT, too bad no photo........LOL.............ok, time to publish and see how our decor looks this year, with all this junk in upcoming posts through-out the month............love to you and your's......~ susie
